Call for Entries
Winter 2006 Photography Group Show

The Human Body
The Darkroom - New Orleans Center for the Photographic Arts is delighted to announce
a call for photographic entries on the occasion of the Month of Photography on the theme of "The Human Body".
Juror: We are very pleased to have David Houston, Chief Curator at the
Ogden Museum of Southern Art serving as juror.
Eligibility: Open to all photographers using any printing process on any media. Images taken
as a result of this call for entries will be given special consideration. All art submitted
must be the original work of the applicant. Artwork may not be a copy of another artist's work or a photograph taken by
someone else.
Deadline: All entries must be submitted electronically by Monday Nov 6th 2006 at 6PM.
Opening: Saturday December 2nd 2006 at The Darkroom.
Submission Guidelines:
In order to meet all entry requirements artists must
- Send an email with contact information, including name, address and phone number, to submissions [at] neworleansdarkroom.com
- Include in the body of the email up to 5 images (*) in jpg, tiff or psd format at 72dpi.. Please include
- the title
- the photographic process used for each print (e.g. silver gelatin, platinum, digital, etc...)
- the date the image was taken
- Send a non-refundable $15 entry fee (**)
Acceptance/Notification: Artists will be notified by Wednesday November 8th as to whether or not they have been selected. The framed artwork
must not exceed 24" in width and is to be delivered at The Darkroom no later than Saturday November 25 2006
Sales/commissions: Commissions are taken for sales generated via the exhibition, but works submitted do not have to be available for sale. Sales will be encouraged, however, and proceeds from the show will be distributed the following way:
- 60% for the Artist
- 40% for The Darkroom

| Wednesday November 8th | Artists are notified of the status of their entry |
| Saturday November 25th | Last day to turn in framed artwork |

* In case more than five images are submitted, only the first five will be reviewed.
** Entries received without payment of the non-refundable entry fee will not be reviewed. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, checks, or money orders
made out to The Darkroom. Credit card payments over the phone are not accepted.
The Darkroom reserves the right to use submitted images for inclusion in the exhibition and for the purpose of publicity.
